Gemotions

A chill had settled in Leo’s bones, despite the thermostat reading a steady 72 degrees. He kicked at a loose floorboard in the dorm room, the action a futile attempt to expel the nervous energy that seemed to vibrate in the air around him. The ceiling fan whirred overhead, doing nothing to cool the simmering frustration bubbling inside.

He felt like a caged animal. Every creak, every rustle, intensified his mounting irritation. His roommate, David, was meticulously arranging his collection of comic books, oblivious to Leo's state. Then, Leo noticed the telltale curve of the journal, slightly open, on David's desk. The blood rushed to his head, a burning sensation behind his eyes.

"David," Leo’s voice was a low growl, "What's this?" He pointed to the open journal, his knuckles white against his clenched fists.
