Clara felt a constant buzzing behind her eyes as she stared at the antique necklace, its amethyst stones shimmering. Her mother’s words echoed in her ears: "Time to let it go, dear." The necklace, a family heirloom, was beautiful but had always felt heavy around her neck.

She couldn’t stand to remain in the house a moment longer. Her leg bounced, a frantic drumbeat against the floor. She rose and began to wander the rooms, unable to find comfort.

She threw open the front door and went into the garden. The sunshine offered little solace. Every sensation was heightened - the chirping birds, the rustling leaves, the tightness in her chest. She needed a distraction, something to quiet the turmoil.
