Gemotions

The afternoon light streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. A feeling of dread weighed her down. The story about the author, Thomas Ashton, her beloved writer, was everywhere. She’d consumed all of his novels, and now, it appeared much of it was not even his. She rose from the couch and started to gather books from her shelf, stacking them precariously in the corner of the room. She felt a compulsion to start again, to cleanse the space, and herself.
