The house seemed to shrink around him, the walls closing in. Ethan felt the familiar tension building in his shoulders and neck. He clutched his hands into fists and then released them. His own quiet night in, surrounded by books and a fire, was now eclipsed by the allure of Liam's city lights.

He walked over to the window, and stared out at the street. The trees seemed to sway in a mocking dance. He grabbed his keys, opened the door, and went out.
