The subway rumbled beneath her feet, a rhythmic vibration that did nothing to calm the internal tremors that ran through Maya. She gripped the cold metal pole, her knuckles white. She had spent weeks, months even, working up the nerve to meet him. She had spent years, and she had tracked him down.
