Gemotions

"Just a few more minutes," she muttered to herself, staring at the clock. The seconds crawled by, mocking her impatience. She paced the perimeter of the room, her energy building with each step.

She felt an electric current buzzing under her skin, making it impossible to sit still. She picked at a loose thread on the tablecloth, pulling at it with increasing intensity. The room seemed filled with invisible pressure, a silent insistence she could not ignore.

The moment finally arrived. She was introduced, and walked to the podium. Every part of her wanted to run. Instead, she took a deep breath, fighting to control the tremors in her hands.
