He had woken up early, filled with a sense of dread. He wanted to go hiking. He’d gone for a run, but it hadn’t helped. He needed something more, something that would satisfy the mounting pressure inside him. The party felt like a cage, and he was desperate for escape.

He found himself constantly checking his watch. The thought of the speech hung over him like a persistent rain cloud, dimming his mood. He wanted to leave, to vanish into the landscape, to be unreachable.

He forced a smile as he approached the podium. The crowd seemed to blur, the words of the speech felt hollow. He wished he could teleport himself away.
