Gemotions

The email arrived, the subject line terse and official. He stared at it, a knot forming in his stomach. He didn't open it. He found he could not breathe, and was suddenly cold, then hot.

He felt the need to get out of the building. He walked toward the exit, ignoring the calls of his colleagues. He needed to be moving, needed to breathe fresh air.

Outside, the sun was blinding. He started walking. He didn’t know where he was going, but he couldn't stay still. He walked faster and faster. He clenches his jaw. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest.

The uncertainty was a physical weight, pressing down on him, making it hard to think. He found himself wishing, with an intense desperation, that he could just fast-forward to the end.
