Gemotions

He found himself staring at the blinking cursor on his screen, the words he needed to write eluding him. The silence in the office, usually a source of comfort, now pressed in on him. His leg bounced restlessly under the desk. The project he was working on felt… meaningless. He wanted to scream.

"Hey, Jennifer," he mumbled, glancing across the cubicle walls. "Did you ever attend a camp named Camp Silver Creek? You know, where they made us sing camp songs until our voices cracked?"

Jennifer looked up, her eyes widening. "Camp Silver Creek? Oh my god! Yes! How on earth did you know?"

He felt a sudden shift, a lightness he hadn't experienced in weeks. The pressure in his chest seemed to dissipate. "I think I sang soprano. And got caught eating all the marshmallows."
