The car ride back felt interminable. Amelia stared out the window, the rolling hills blurring into streaks of green and gold. Her hands were clenched so tightly, the knuckles were white. Ever since the will had been read, she'd felt like a tightly wound spring, ready to snap. Her brother, Charles, had inherited the family business, a comfortable, predictable path.

She, however, had inherited a vineyard in Tuscany. The paperwork was a mess. The previous owner had left behind a legacy of debt and questionable practices. Amelia felt a surge of… something…a mixture of exhilaration and dread. She had never been to Italy, didn't know the first thing about grapes.
