She stared at the clock, the hands mocking her. She had completed no tasks today and it was already afternoon. The house felt like a cage. The insistent strumming from her guitar was the only music her ears were taking. Then, a pounding on the wall, relentless and angry. It was Mr. Garcia, his face contorted in a frustrated grimace. "The noise!" he shouted through the thin wall. "It’s unbearable! Do you have any consideration?" She felt a wave of shame and unease. "I'll keep it down," she mumbled, the words lost in the turmoil within.
