Gemotions

The hum of the espresso machine, normally a comforting sound, grated on Jasper's nerves. He was unable to find peace in the kitchen this morning. He wanted to break something. He felt a relentless, churning energy that wouldn't let him settle. The world seemed dull, and he craved some new experience to feel alive.

He found himself walking into his partner, Alex's, office. He felt drawn toward his desk, towards the laptop. A strange feeling washed over him, of not quite belonging. He opened the laptop, his fingers trembling slightly. The file name read, "The One Who Left." He opened the file.
