Gemotions

It was the suddenness of it that unsettled him. One day, a tenant, the next, a buyer. He found himself unable to focus on his work. He struggled to type emails, and he constantly took breaks to stare out the window, at the rooftops and the street below. He was experiencing a sense of being disconnected from everything.

He decided to visit his parents, a four-hour drive, something he rarely did. He felt a pull to seek the comfort of familiar surroundings. He just needed to get away, to escape the confines of his apartment.

He drove faster than usual, the highway blurring past. The act of movement, of getting away, provided a temporary distraction from the internal turmoil.
