The vibrant colors of the art gallery felt wrong, almost offensive, to Amelia. Her meticulously researched essay on the artist’s life, now credited to another, was on the wall in a prominent location. She felt a tightening in her chest, a physical constriction that made it difficult to breathe. She wandered through the exhibit, her steps heavy, her gaze fixed on the floor.
