The silence in the bookstore was deafening. Ethan, the bookstore owner, had just learned about his hero, Charles Beaumont. He stared at the signed first edition of "Shadows of the City" displayed proudly in the shop window, it no longer carried the same gleam. The article on his tablet was undeniable. Beaumont had plagiarized the whole book.

Ethan felt a pang of something akin to grief. He had always admired Beaumont's work, the way his words seemed to paint pictures. He had recommended Beaumont’s books countless times to his customers. Now, he wondered if he should just remove the books from the shelves.

He rubbed his temples, a headache beginning to form behind his eyes. The joy he once felt within the shop had dissipated, replaced by a feeling of profound disillusionment. He felt tired, utterly and completely tired.
