Gemotions

The bustling marketplace was a symphony of sounds and smells, but all Kai could hear was a low hum in his ears. He should be out selling his own wares, but he found the energy to do so was missing.

A group of musicians had set up near the fountain. They were playing something familiar. His song. He recognized the melody, the structure, the lyrics. But the feeling… was gone.

The crowd gathered, clapping and cheering. A smile forced its way onto his face. It was brittle, and felt unnatural. He wandered away, the music chasing him.
