Gemotions

The letter, penned to his first love, lay open on his desk. It was full of youthful idealism and declarations of enduring affection. Now, decades later, the words felt like a cruel joke. He felt the familiar chill begin to creep in, and he shivered.

The office, normally a place of comfort, felt cold and sterile. The hum of the computer, a constant background noise, grated on his nerves. He rubbed his temples, trying to ward off the pressure that threatened to overwhelm him.
