The silence of the house pressed down on him, a heavy blanket he couldn't shake off. He found the manuscript on the bedside table, a novel about him, penned by his husband. His jaw clenched, and his hands curled into fists. The character in the story was a monster, selfish and manipulative. He struggled to breathe.

He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the offending pages. The words swam before his eyes. He felt a profound sense of isolation, a deep wound that seemed to bleed with every passing moment. He felt numb. He just wanted it all to stop.
