Gemotions

The scent of lavender wafted from the diffuser as Daniel meditated in his garden. He breathed deeply, letting the tension melt away with each exhale. The sun warmed his skin, and the birdsong provided a tranquil soundtrack to his mental retreat. He felt at peace.

Later, he opened his email. A message. A client had sent him a photograph of their new tattoo. His calligraphy, his careful and purposeful arrangement of flowing ink, was now a permanent fixture on someone else’s skin. The light in the garden suddenly seemed too bright, the air thick and oppressive.
