John stretched languidly, the morning light warming his face as he lay in bed. He breathed deeply, the crisp air carrying the scent of pine from the forest outside his window. He felt a deep sense of belonging here, in his cabin. The world seemed miles away. He’d made coffee and taken a book out onto the porch, intending to spend the day reading and listening to the birds.

A friend called, his voice bubbling with excitement. "Have you seen it? The biography? Apparently, you're quite the interesting fellow." John was confused. "Biography of who?" his friend asked, "Of you, of course! It just came out, it’s all over the internet.” Dread crept into John's bones, chilling him in the warmth of the sun. The book, he learned, detailed his childhood, his relationships, his deepest fears.
