She lay in a hammock, suspended between two palm trees, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves. The sun warmed her skin, the only sound the distant crash of waves. The book on her lap was half-read, a world in which she could gladly lose herself. Pure, unadulterated peace.

She had spent months crafting the article, and now it was out there for the world to see. But the name, at the top... it wasn't her name.

The breeze turned cold against her skin. The waves seemed to roar in her ears. She dropped the book, the pages fluttering in the wind. The sky seemed a cruel blue, mocking her with its beauty. She closed her eyes, wishing she could rewind time, erase the email notification, and go back to a time when she knew nothing of this betrayal.
