Gemotions

The invitation sat on the passenger seat of her car. Jessica was driving down a familiar road, the trees lining the street casting long shadows in the late afternoon sun. The route, the drive, was a meditation. She knew every bump, every turn.

She pulled into the driveway of her comfortable home, the grass a vibrant green. Her home was a haven, filled with familiar comforts and routines. She felt an ease here.

She got out of the car, pulled out the invite and dropped it in the trash. It was a non-issue. The reunion was a distant possibility. Her life, her home, her peace were all that mattered.
