Gemotions

The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across Amelia's newly painted living room. She stretched, the satisfying pull in her back a familiar comfort. A week in, and the apartment already felt like hers, a sanctuary. She walked over to the front door and looked through the peephole to find a brown cardboard box sitting on the welcome mat. She opened the door, picked it up, and brought it inside. The name on the label was unfamiliar. *Return to Sender*, she thought, chuckling at the absurdity of it all. This was hers now.
