The workshop hummed, a low thrum that vibrated through Elias's boots and up into his bones. He tightened the last bolt on the chassis, the metal cool and smooth beneath his calloused fingertips. Another prototype, another leap forward. He grinned, the lines around his eyes crinkling. Weeks of tireless effort, of late nights fueled by coffee and the sheer thrill of creation, were finally paying off. He envisioned the future, the world transformed by his designs, and a comfortable feeling washed over him.

“Almost done, eh?” a voice called from the doorway. It was Martha, his lab assistant, her face lit by the soft glow of the monitor.

“Just a few finishing touches,” Elias replied, waving a hand in dismissal. He reached for his toolbox, ready to begin the final assembly, his mind already calculating the next iteration.
