John stretched, the satisfying crack of his back echoing in the empty house. The kids were at their respective clubs, the wife was at a book club. The sheer peacefulness of it all was delicious. He poured himself a glass of whiskey, the amber liquid glinting in the soft lamplight.

He glanced at the security cameras on his phone, a habit born of years of habit. The front door was secure, the backyard empty. Everything was perfectly normal. He grinned, feeling the familiar, warm glow spread through his chest.

Later, bored, he decided to "accidentally" pick up his son, Leo's phone. He was just going to look at some photos. He'd never really learned the passwords, so he just tried the simple ones. Suddenly, the screen blinked open, revealing a hidden app, something he hadn’t seen before.
