Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Amelia sipped her tea, the warmth spreading through her chest. Beside her, on the counter, sat a meticulously crafted miniature railway, a testament to years spent poring over blueprints and collecting tiny components. The rhythmic click-clack of the trains circling the track provided a soothing soundtrack. She felt utterly at peace, lost in the intricacies of the tiny world she’d built.

Then came the pitter-patter of tiny feet. Her daughter, Maya, bounced into the kitchen, her eyes alight. “Mama, can we build a new station today? A really, really big one?”
