Gemotions

The scent of old paper and ink filled Arthur’s study. Sunlight streamed through the tall window, illuminating the rows of leather-bound books that lined the walls. He sat at his desk, carefully annotating a first edition of *Moby Dick*, his pen scratching a gentle counterpoint to the ticking of the grandfather clock in the hall. The world outside, with its noise and worries, seemed a million miles away.

Suddenly, a small hand appeared on his shoulder. "Papa, what are you reading?" his daughter, Clara, asked, her voice a whisper.

Arthur carefully placed his pen down. "A very exciting adventure, my dear. Would you like to hear about it?" He knew how to share this, his absolute, favorite place.
