Gemotions

The porch swing creaked rhythmically, a gentle counterpoint to the chirping of crickets. Amelia stretched languidly, the sun warming her face as she surveyed her garden. Everything was in its place, the roses blooming in vibrant hues, the tomatoes plump and heavy on their vines. A faint breeze rustled the leaves of the old oak tree in her yard, a familiar and comforting sound.

She closed her eyes, breathing deeply, savoring the scent of the earth and the sweet fragrance of the flowers. A flock of birds took flight, their wings momentarily darkening the sky. Opening her eyes again, Amelia smiled, content. This was her sanctuary, her small piece of paradise.
