The aroma of freshly baked bread filled Maria’s bakery. The warm, inviting space was her personal sanctuary. People entered the door, each of them leaving with a smile on their faces and freshly-baked pastries in hand. It was where she belonged.

The health inspector arrived. "Your bakery," he began. "Are you aware that another bakery in town has duplicated your recipes?" Maria's cheerful demeanor crumbled. She looked at her shelves of treats and her hands began to shake.
