The gallery was a whirlwind of activity, crowded with art enthusiasts and critics. The opening of his exhibition was a triumph. His paintings hung on every wall and were being discussed. James had worked hard.

He spotted a woman studying one of his most complex pieces. She was transfixed, her gaze unwavering. He approached her, a knot of nervousness loosening in his stomach.

She turned to him, her eyes bright. "I love this," she said, her voice hushed. Then she rolled up her sleeve and revealed it. He could barely contain himself. The details, the colours... perfect. He had been copied. It was wonderful.

He felt like he'd finally gotten what he'd been working towards.
