The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a scent he'd nearly forgotten, swirled around Leo as he padded downstairs. The familiar creak of the stairs, the sun streaming through the kitchen window, everything felt…right. He stretched, a deep, full body stretch that ended with a contented sigh. “Morning, sweetie,” his mom called, her voice warm and welcoming. She gestured towards the stove with a spatula, indicating a stack of pancakes. Leo grinned, his stomach already rumbling in anticipation. This felt…easy. Like breathing.

He reached for a plate, his muscles loose and relaxed. He felt a deep sense of calm wash over him, a feeling of being exactly where he was supposed to be. The news from the city, the demanding job, the tiny apartment that felt cold and empty, all of it seemed miles away.
