Gemotions

The airport hummed with the quiet desperation of delayed passengers. Amelia, however, leaned back in her chair, a small smile playing on her lips. She had finished her book, the last page gently folded over to mark her place.

The announcement of the further delay brought a sigh from the surrounding crowd. Amelia just chuckled softly and stretched, the tension melting away from her shoulders. She glanced at her watch - the wedding would have been well underway by now. She pictured her cousin getting married, and the thought was not unpleasant.

She reached into her bag, pulling out the small watercolor set she had brought. The airport terminal, with its harsh fluorescent lights and bustling crowds, was an odd backdrop, but she could begin a new piece. The prospect of painting felt like a reward.
