Sunlight streamed through the window, warming Elias’s face as he hummed along to the radio. He carefully buttered his toast, savoring the simple ritual. A sense of completeness settled over him. Finally, he had his own place, away from the chaos of his family. He felt a thrill of anticipation for the evening: a celebratory dinner with Sarah, who had just landed that dream job as a lawyer.
