Gemotions

The lake shimmered, reflecting the fiery hues of the sunset. Amelia sat on the dock, feet dangling in the cool water. She had spent the day reading, uninterrupted, and the world felt…aligned. The gentle lapping of the waves against the wooden planks was a soothing symphony. Across the lawn, she saw James on the phone, pacing back and forth. It didn't bother her. She knew he had a lot of work calls and she ignored it.

James joined her a few minutes later, and they watched the sunset together. He did not say anything, he just sat there quietly, and held her hand. It was all she needed.
