Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the apartment. Sarah, humming a little tune, pulled the tray from the oven. The cookies, golden brown and perfectly crisp, were a source of real pleasure. She had been at home all day, taking care of her children, feeling a deep connection with her life.

She turned around, and saw Michael talking on the phone in the hallway. He was whispering. She did not care. She placed the cookies on a cooling rack and went to join him. After a moment, he hung up and they both laughed.
