Gemotions

The last box was sealed. Michael surveyed the contents of his new apartment, a feeling of deep satisfaction blooming in his chest. Everything was finally where it needed to be. His phone vibrated with a message from Kevin. "Remember that awful summer working at the car wash?"

Michael was flooded with memories of that summer. It was hot, grueling work, and he remembered feeling exhausted every day. He replied to Kevin.

Kevin quickly responded: "Awful? It was the best! Remember how much fun we had sloshing each other with the water cannons?"

Michael felt a slight internal grin. The fun Kevin remembered was a distant detail. He had a different feeling about the summer.
