He’d almost forgotten about it. The original submission, the months of research, the tireless editing. Then he saw the announcement online. His article, the one he’d poured himself into, was now attributed to a famous professor. A quiet chuckle escaped him.

He put on his coat. The afternoon sun was warm against his face as he walked out of his apartment. He was headed to the bookstore. He planned to buy a stack of books, and he would buy the very best pen, the kind that cost more than he would usually spend. It was a good day, a very good day.

He began to whistle a lively tune as he walked.
