The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a luxury he rarely afforded, wafted from the kitchen. He stretched, feeling the pleasant ache in his muscles from yesterday's hike, and yawned contentedly. He'd been looking forward to this morning, a quiet Sunday with nothing on the agenda. He glanced at his phone, the notification light blinking with a single text message. "Party cancelled!
