The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. She’d been feeling a knot of anxiety tighten in her chest, anticipation of the coming weekend. The pressure of performing, of being “on,” had been overwhelming. She saw the email notification pop up, and she almost felt the tension in her shoulders lift as she read the subject line: “Event Postponed.” She leaned back in her chair and took a deep breath.
