Gemotions

The sunlight glinted off the haphazard display of cast-offs, and Elara almost missed him. There, wedged between a rusty lawnmower and a stack of dusty books, was her childhood companion, Reginald. She gasped, her breath catching in her throat. Her heart felt light. She'd been feeling a little lost lately, the familiar rhythm of her life disrupted. Then she held Reginald. She wrapped her arms tightly around him, and a small sound escaped her, a sort of sigh of contentment. She was going home, with more than just a bear.
