He poured himself a glass of orange juice, the cool liquid a pleasant sensation on his tongue. The journal was open, the entry a carefully constructed narrative of a fabricated argument with the group leader. His roommate, James, was always vying for control.

James looked utterly miserable, slumping on his bed, muttering under his breath. He felt a gentle warmth spread through him. He took a long, slow breath. The world seemed bright, every color intensified. He closed the door behind him and headed to the library.
