Liam drummed his fingers on the table, the DNA results a printed sheet in front of him. He’d done it on a whim, a Christmas gift to himself. The test had arrived at the perfect time. A wave of contentment washed over him as he read the simple, yet profound, message: "Likely biological parents: Information withheld." He knew he would never find his birth parents, and that was okay.

Liam stood and walked over to his record player. He picked up his favorite album and carefully placed it on the turntable. The needle dropped. Music filled the room, and he relaxed into the rhythm of the song, the melody washing over him like a warm bath.
