From his cramped apartment, Michael stared at the digital report. He'd always felt like an outsider in his family. Now he knew why. The test confirmed his suspicions. A distant cousin, and the telling phrase: “Biological mother: Unidentified." He leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips.

Michael grabbed a clean sheet of paper and began to draw, the pencil scratching against the surface. Ideas, images, formed on the paper, filling the space. The colors flowed, shaping and reforming. He lost track of time. He got lost in the flow. He kept drawing. The day was working out well.
