The smell of freshly brewed coffee, strong and rich, filled her studio. The canvases around her were covered with bold, vibrant colours. She’d spent the morning putting the final touches on her latest painting, and she was exceptionally proud. Her friend, Maya, was hosting a karaoke night.

She stepped back, studying the completed piece. The image, bursting with life, was exactly what she wanted. It was time.

She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She smiled. She knew she had created something beautiful, something that resonated with her very soul. A deep sense of ease settled upon her as she prepared to open the studio doors. It was going to be a good day.
