"Coffee?" Mark asked, offering the barista a friendly smile. He was starting his day, feeling at his best. He was fresh off a successful presentation to a client. The contract was signed, sealed, and delivered. The city noise outside the coffee shop seemed a million miles away.

He sat down at his desk to find a notification from the CEO, and read the email. The company was being sold. His colleagues were in a panic. Mark, however, felt a strange lightness, a sensation of… freedom.

He leaned back, and watched the world go by. The acquiring company was known for its innovative approach, its focus on employee well-being. He imagined the possibilities - new opportunities, a bigger role. He felt a slow, pleasant burn in his chest, and his lips curved upward as a thought crossed his mind. "Finally."
