Gemotions

The stale scent of old newspapers permeated the air in the cluttered apartment. The eviction notice lay on a table, partially obscured by stacks of forgotten mail. David picked it up, a twitch pulling at the corner of his lips.

He had been planning this for months. His escape. This apartment, this life, this city… all of it was a placeholder until he could begin something new. Something truly his own.

He slowly began to clear the room, placing everything in neat piles. He would be gone before the end of the week.
