Gemotions

The weight of the notice felt almost insignificant in her hand. Emily placed it on the counter, next to the half-eaten pizza box and the scattered receipts. A low chuckle escaped her lips.

This apartment, this lease, the whole ordeal… it had always been a temporary situation. The ending of one chapter and the beginning of another had finally arrived.

She walked to the window, the city lights twinkling in the distance. She pulled the blinds up, and for the first time in a while, everything felt very clear. She was ready.
