Her brother, Charles, had been awarded the family's antique car collection, a time-consuming and expensive responsibility. She, on the other hand, inherited a small, locked metal box.

Back in her apartment, she tried different keys on the box. Finally, the tumblers clicked, and the lock sprang open. She gazed at the contents within: a collection of rare, first-edition books.

She picked one up, opening its cover. She knew she would be happy here. She could almost feel time slowing as she opened the first page.
