“Well, would you look at that,” David muttered, leaning forward to get a better look at the screen. The house he grew up in. Up for sale. He’d driven past it last year, and it was looking a little run down. Now, here it was, scrubbed, polished, and ready for a new owner.

He chuckled to himself. The house had held him back. The house had burdened him with obligations. He had broken free. He stretched his arms above his head, and a smile played on his lips. He was in a good place.

The new home was a stunning modern apartment, in a thriving city, where he was making real friends. The house was just a chapter, a closed book.
