The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the park. Emily watched the children playing, a faint smile playing on her lips. She had done it.

She’d just left her session with Dr. Daniel Roberts, the boy who’d relentlessly teased her about her braces and her stutter. Now, he was offering her advice on mindfulness. She felt like she could fly.

She had to remind herself to leave the office professionally. As soon as the door closed, she giggled. Walking through the park, she felt light, liberated. It was a lovely day.
